This is not a definitive list of the definitions of certain words, they are the meanings that I ascribe to certain words. Many are exactly as you might find in a dictionary some are not. I include this as a method of understanding my writng and you are free to disagree with my definitions. It’s more about trying to be clear as to what it is that I am trying to say.
Gender:- A typical dictionary definition of gender is, The state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones)
Sex:-Either of the two main categories (man and woman) into which humans and most other living things are divided on the basis of their reproductive functions. The act of sexual interaction between two people (regardless of biological sex or gender)
Intersex:-Various genetic conditions result in an ambigous or difficult to define sex of a person
Gender Binary:- The notion that Gender is binary in nature and therefore there are only two (male and female) genders
Gender Fluid:- The notion that gender is not a fixed condition and that humans exist in a state of flux between two poles of masculinity and femininity
Transgender:-Denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex.
Cisgender:- Denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender corresponds with their birth sex.
Man:- The biological condition of having XX chromosomes, Of or denoting the sex that produces gametes, especially spermatozoa, with which a woman may be fertilized or inseminated to produce offspring:
Woman:- The biological condition of having XY chromosomes, Of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) which can be fertilized by a man’s gametes:
Male:- Relating to or characteristic of men
Female:- Relating to or characteristic of women
Masculine:- Relating to qualities of spirit available to all humans. The masculine is more singular, more focused on a particular outcome, more driven to know and be right more Yang
Feminine:- Relating to qualities of spirit available to all humans. The feminine is more multitudinal, more focused on relationships, less driven to be right, happier to sit with uncertainty more Yin
Yang:- Hotter, harder, sharper, charachterised as the sunny side of the hill. Yang does not exist alone but rather in constant relationship with Yin
Yin:- Cooler, softer, duller, charachterised as the shady side of the hil. Yin does not exist alone but in constant relationshio with Yang
